A great day promoting industry careers at another equipment rodeo! More than 100 high school FFA students from Baldwin and Mobile counties learned about carrer pathways while gaining first hand experience operating equipment used daily in the green industry. We had students come to the event in Loxley from as far as Andalusia.

Thank you to Flowerwood Nursery, Inc., Parish Tractor Company Baldwin, and JubileeScape for taking this event to the next level. We appreciate your support!

Here we grow again! Another successful equipment rodeo promoting green industry careers to high school ag students. Over 175 participants today from 7 area high schools.

A big thank you to Southern Union State Community College Opelika Campus for hosting this event and to the following companies who brought volunteers and equipment. These events would not be successful without your support!

Day 2 of AmericanHort’s Impact Washington Summit! Today we caught up with Senator Britt before a full day of meetings with staff from the offices of Reps. Strong, Palmer, Moore, Sewell, and Aderholt.

It was an extremely busy day on the hill as most reps were in markup meetings. We are appreciative of the work the staff in these offices are doing. They probably don’t get the credit they deserve outside those walls, but they are the ones digging in and learning about the issues to pass along to congressional members in both houses.

Any members interested to participate in future fly-ins should contact the ALNLA office.

Day 1 for the Alabama delegation at AmericanHort’s Impact Washington Summit. We briefed on issues including ag labor, guest worker program reforms, tariffs, shipping, research, and Farm Bill this morning. We also received updates from USDA staff and Secretary of Labor Lori Chavez-DeRemer.

This afternoon we met with ag staff in Senator Tuberville and Britt’s offices to discuss the issues. The evening wrapped up with a networking reception for members and staff from over 25 state associations. The Green Industry showed up more than 150 strong for this fly in!

We extend a BIG thank you to ALNLA President Randy Bodine (Jana), Vice President Matt Pilkington (Kyla), Past President Davy Wright (Heather), and Past President Harvey Cotten for investing their time to advocate for ALL of our members’ business interests.

Spring often brings a rise in equipment theft. What locks, racks, etc. have you found to be successful that other contractors should know about? Link a product in the comments.
