The last day of day camp is always the saddest because we say goodbye to our senior PAs. This year we said goodbye to Blueberry and Noodle. Blueberry has been coming to AWDC since she was in 2nd grade and Noodle has been coming since she was in Kindergarten! Since Blueberry's last day was Thursday, she was award her camp chair at the late night campfire. Noodle was awarded her camp chair during closing campfire.
Senior PAs get to close camp by doing the closing flag ceremony but seeing that Noodle was the only one there that day, she had some help from a few of our campers.
We'll miss them both and hope they'll come back as adult volunteers.

Thursday was another busy but fun day at camp! To help cool down from the heat we had Aulani Shaved Ice and a water truck come out to camp. The campers finished up their skills units and those who are 4th grade and up got to spend the night. During our evening campfire the PA's retired flags. We also had the wonderful Donna "Ladybug" P. come as a guest skills leader to teach knives. Thank you Donna!

We had some new friends visit us today at camp! The Parrot Lady came to teach us all about her beautiful birds. The campers also continued with multiple skills lessons such as fire and knife safety, geocaching, knots, science, archery and crafts. It was also dress like a camper/PA day so WooHoo and Tadpole spent all day seeing double!

Please check your email from WooHoo! to make sure you'll have all required paperwork ready, any outstanding balances have been paid, and to remind you and your camper of the general camp rules (like wearing close toed shoes and not bringing any nut products to camp). Ready for a week of dinosaur fun? Registration is filling up quickly but we've still have room, especially for those going into grades Kindergarten, 2nd, 4th or 6th this September.
Have a teenager who would love to help lead and inspire our campers? We're always welcoming more program aides (those going into 7th-12th grade) as well!

Last call for the PA Training for new Rovers! Looks like there are 2 spots left at the Big Deal on the 18th of this month. If your scout is in 7th-12th grade and has never been a PA/Rover before, this training is required. The sign up link can be found on the GSWW events website.
