Domestic Violence Intervention Center The Domestic Violence Intervention Center strives to eliminate domestic violence in Lee, Chambers, Macon, Randolph and Tallapoosa counties.

We offer an emergency shelter, legal advocacy, child advocacy, case management, and transportation services.

💜 Community Outreach in Tallapoosa County!💜

DVIC had the pleasure of partnering with the Dadeville Public Library to set up outside and connect with our community! We enjoyed the opportunity to spread awareness about domestic violence, share resources, and remind individuals that support is available.

A special thank you to the Dadeville Police Department for stopping by to show their support for DVIC and the survivors we serve! 💜

💜 Community Outreach in Chambers County!💜

Here at Domestic Violence Intervention Center, we proudly serve five counties! While we conduct monthly outreach in each county, we’re making it a priority to visit all five alongside as many of our staff members as possible to strengthen our connections with the communities we serve.

Today, we visited Ready, Set, Glow Tanning LLC in Chambers County to connect with community members, spread awareness about domestic violence, and share valuable resources. 💜

We were also grateful to have the LaFayette Police Department stop by to show their support for DVIC and the survivors and victims they serve!

A huge thank-you to Ready Set Glow Tanning and the Lafayette Sheriff’s Department for supporting our mission and helping us make a difference in our community. Together, we can raise awareness, share resources, and remind survivors that they are not alone! 💜🦋

Just a reminder that our candlelight vigil this year will be held on October 20, 2026 at Opelika SportsPlex Amphitheater! 💜 🕯️

We cannot wait to see everyone there!

Every October we do this candlelight vigil as a remembrance of current, past, and future victims and survivors of domestic violence. These events are to honor these individuals and the experiences they have had. We hope to come together as a community and show our support and acknowledge these experiences.

Some of our DVIC staff had the pleasure of attending Alabama Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ACADV)‘s 2026 Domestic Violence Awareness Luncheon: “It Takes a Community - Strengthening Alabama’s Response to Domestic Violence.

This beautiful luncheon brought together community partners who share a common goal: strengthening collaboration, expanding support, and improving the response to domestic violence across Alabama.

We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with fellow advocates, engage in meaningful conversations, and learn how we can continue working together to better support survivors. Creating safer communities takes all of us, and together, we can make a difference! 💜

Spot the Signs. Believe Survivors.

Domestic violence doesn’t always look like physical violence. It can include patterns of control, intimidation, isolation, manipulation, financial abuse, threats, and other behaviors that impact a person’s safety and well-being.

Swipe through the slides to learn some of the signs of domestic violence. Knowing the signs can help us recognize unhealthy patterns, support survivors, and connect someone to help when they need it.
