At our After School Programs, students have the opportunity to go on several different field trips throughout the school year! We always kick off the fall with trips to the apple orchard or pumpkin patch.

Here are our Casey Park After School Program students on their trip to Owen Orchards! The staff and students alike love our annual trip to Owen’s, as you can see by their smiling faces in these beautiful pictures take by our talented staff! 😊🍎

Keep an eye out over the next few days for more pictures of our after school students on their fall field trips!

Cayuga County: LAST CALL TO VOTE FOR BTW! We have until 7:00pm for any final votes! Please share!

Booker T. Washington Community Center has the opportunity to receive $75,000 to launch the new Cayuga County Teen Resource Program, a countywide program designed to give teens ages 14-19 a trusted person to help them navigate big and small issues that can sometimes feel overwhelming.

This includes:
-Finding a job or planning for college
-Housing and life skills
-Mental, physical and sexual health resources
-Transportation
-Financial literacy
-Connecting with services, and actually following through

BTW has decades of experience working with teens. This program will allow us to offer more individualized services to each and every teen in Cayuga County.

The difference is important. This isn't just a referral list or another website. The program would provide teens a navigator who can help build a plan, make connections, arrange transportation when needed, and stay involved until the teen has meaningful support in place.

YOUR VOTE CAN MAKE THAT HAPPEN!

BTW staff often share their own hobbies and interests with our students. Ms. Rose at the Seward After School Program loves to garden. She brought flowers that she grew at home in for her students, taught them all about each plant, and helped them to arrange their own bouquets! 💐🌹🌱

Arts & Crafts is one of our most popular enrichment activities! Here we have some of our Owasco After School students designing their own bags and some of our Casey Park After School students making 3D self portraits. BTW staff do an excellent job planning engaging projects for students to have a creative outlet.

The Casey Park After School Program Minors & Tweens learned about Pedro Linares for Hispanic Heritage Month during Project Based Learning. He was a famous papier-mâché artist who created sculptures of fantastical creatures known as Alebrijes. The students designed their own beautiful Alebrijes to display at school! 🌈🦁🦄🐮🐘🪽
