Cary Center Community and Collegiate Programs, part of Auburn University’s College of Human Sciences, are designed to meet the growing demand for educating, empowering, and equipping the next generation of nonprofit leaders. Through a range of dynamic offerings—including the in-person Nonprofit Training Series, monthly virtual programs, the Nonprofit Affiliate Program, Mix & Mingles, and other out

reach initiatives—nonprofit professionals gain valuable networking opportunities and targeted professional development to support their growth as emerging leaders in the sector. At the collegiate level, students are encouraged to realize their full potential through the Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies Major and Minor, as well as the Student Philanthropy Board, preparing them to make meaningful, philanthropic contributions throughout their careers.

Last week, we were pleased to partner with the River Region United Way to present a day of training in Montgomery. The Cary Center Nonprofit Training Series took place at the River Region United Way office. This program included sessions on self-care for changemakers, website essentials, marketing with purpose, and engaging young professionals. Lunch was sponsored by Jackson Thornton.

We were pleased to partner with the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham to present a day of training in Birmingham. The Cary Center Nonprofit Training Series took place at the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham's office. This program included sessions on building strategic partnerships; cultivating transformational donors; preventing burnout in nonprofit work; and new paths to sustainable revenue. Hannah Wohltjen is the Chief Research and Evaluation Officer and a co-founder of Elevate Consulting, a Nashville-based consulting firm that partners with service organizations to help them find ways to better solve problems, tell their stories, and share their impact. She is passionate about making evaluation approachable, accessible, and useful. She has experience with all phases of evaluation, but is particularly interested in evaluation design, innovative data collection methods, and data visualization. Hannah has had the opportunity to work on evaluation projects with a variety of state agencies, foundations, and nonprofits.
