Favorite hunting memory - My most recent favorite memory is my and Remi’s first quail hunt. All the training and time put into preparing him for that day. It was the most rewarding feeling ever to have him not only completely kill it in the field, but to also be so responsive to me and to always stay at a distance where I was in view. The bond with a dog is nothing like anything in this world, and that’s why I am so passionate about the sport and bringing awareness to everyone of how amazing it is. I’m so thankful for my dad and how he raised me over the years whether it was being active in burns on the property or simply just riding along when I was 8 years old.

Favorite hunting memory: Although there are many favorites, my favorite hunting memory would probably have to be my first actual duck hunt. Me and two friends were hunting a small roost hole that had never been hunted before. Not knowing anything about duck hunting at the time, we were quite unprepared for what happened. Right before dark, more ducks than I had ever seen in my life start pouring in, we shot so many times we ended up running out of ammo. Ducks were landing so close to me I could reach out and grab them. We ended up collecting two bands on that hunt not knowing how special that was at the time.

Peyton is a junior here at Auburn and is originally from Headland AL. He is also on the Auburn University fishing team. Peyton and his fishing partner recently won a collegiate tournament!
“My favorite hunting memory is when I killed that big buck in pike county with my grandad in the stand with me. It was special after putting in all the work with him and getting to kill the deer with him with me.”

Favorite memory: my favorite hunting memory would probably be my first turkey hunt. Got to our listening spot right before the sun came up and had a long beard fire off not far from where we were. So we take off and my adrenaline is starting pump we found a good place to set up to kill a damn good sounding bird. This gobbler is coming and coming fast! But out of nowhere he gets quiet for what felt like a forever, then he gobbled so loud and so close I felt it in my chest. He finally comes within range and I have my sights set on him and my shotgun went “click” I forgot to rack a shell in the chamber. But thankfully I was able to rack a shell in and “BOOM” it was a great shot but not for the bird. The best part about this story is it only took about 30 mins from sunrise to have a turkey in the truck.

So thankful for you serving as an officer this year Jacob!

Judd has been hunting ever since he could walk. A Skipperville AL native, he has been raised in some of the best hunting land in the state. When asked favorite memory he said “Anytime I get to see a turkey flop”. Judd is active in NWTF and Ducks Unlimited as well. We’re thankful to have him serve as an officer for Quail Forever this year.
