So, now that y’all have heard our individual stories…We wanted to tell y’all the story of how we met 🙂

Molly and I were both participants in the “STEP Into Nursing” camp at Auburn this past Summer. It’s a 2 and 1/2 week long program that the AU College Of Nursing started in order to help students get accommodated to Auburn while also learning Nursing skills, and experiencing what Nursing School will look like.

Molly and I bonded immediately over T1D. I walked up to her after I saw her insulin pump and we shared stories and experiences over the next couple weeks at the camp.

We kept in touch throughout the rest of the Summer and eventually joined the same sorority. When I brought up the idea of starting an organization on campus, she was more than willing to help and support me every step of the way. Our friendship grows every day, and T1D is what brought us together in the first place.

We hope this club brings about a friendship like ours to other students! Peer support is so important, especially when we are on our own in college. We are both so excited to meet everyone at our first meeting on April 3rd!
