Meet Aginess, a mother of six and farmer in Malawi. When her daughter Fazira became sick, she struggled to find anyone who could lend her money for the care she needed.

Determined to build a better future, she joined a World Vision-supported savings group. Today, Fazira is healthy, Aginess owns her very first piece of land, and she's growing more food to support her family.

But her biggest dream? To see Fazira become a doctor.🥹

They hoped marriage would give her a better future and ease the financial strain on their family. Instead, she was forced to leave school, married before 18, and faced abuse, abandonment, and growing debt.

Today, she's raising her young son while trying to rebuild her life.

Ayesha's story shows why child marriage is about more than a single decision. When families are struggling to survive, poverty, limited opportunities, and social pressure can make child marriage feel like the only path forward.
