Caroline Downey of National Review is our special guest speaker. The Maine Wire goes live, Hurricane Mountain rocks the stage, and Crave Maine and All Belgium Waffles bring the food trucks.

The Maine Wire will be livestreaming and interviewing guests and attendees throughout the festival, with reporter Joe Sokol and Representative Laurel Libby.

Maine's Public Advocate, Heather Sanborn, says the state set out to build about 750 megawatts of community solar. Instead, more than 1,600 megawatts went up!

When community solar grows that big, the cost does not stay with the solar companies. It lands on the bills of everyone who buys electricity. For 2025, she put Net Energy Billing above $234 million, covered by CMP and Versant ratepayers.

Her own test for the program: can it be delivered affordably?
