4-H Day Camps are happening all across Alabama, and this is just one great example from Winston County!
Recently, 4-H participants had the opportunity to attend Vet Camp, where they explored the world of animal care through hands-on learning experiences. With guidance from Dr. Harmony Glenn, Zack Brannon (County Extension Director), Allyson Taylor Evans (4-H Extension Agent), and Betsy Robbins (County Office Admin), campers learned about the important role veterinarians play in agriculture and how they help keep farm animals healthy.
From learning basic animal care skills to discovering careers in veterinary medicine, these students spent the day gaining valuable knowledge while having fun along the way!
"The camp was a true community effort, supported by Extension staff, veterinary vendors, and local partners. For those of us practicing veterinary medicine in the community we grew up in, the opportunity to invest in the next generation was especially meaningful. This program established a strong foundation for future camps and ongoing collaboration, helping cultivate interest and skills in the animal health workforce for years to come," said Dr. Glenn.
