The 2025 DASV „Maikranz“ is brought to rest as the cold dark months approach… We look forward to the return of Spring when we will once again rededicate our Maibaum/Maypole.

The season turns and the club’s focus shifts to the coming Winter. A season filled with holiday celebrations, shooting competitions on the indoor range, fellowship and feelings of Gemütlichkeit in our beloved Schützenhaus…

This past Saturday, many of us gathered to close the circle created with the dedication of our Maypole/Maibaum the previous Springtide. The „Kranz“ was removed from the crown of the „tree,“ and —solemnly accompanied by torchlight— marched to the bonfire for “retirement.” As always, this, as with most of our activities, was marked with good food, good drink, and fellowship. We celebrate a successful 2025, and anticipate a fruitful and joyous 2026.

As the Wheel of the Year turns, the seasons change and we prepare to take leave of the 2025 DASV Maibaum/Maypole, by torchlight, at tonight’s Schützen Biwak — a gathering of members in an evening of friendship to mark the end of another outdoor season…

As our outdoor season at the Schützenpark has come to a conclusion the entire membership of the DASV would like to thank you for joining us at our annual events — Pig Roast, Schützenfest, Chili Cook-Off, and Oktoberfest! Now, for something entirely different:

You saw the bird fall at Schützenfest - for a look at another side of the Schützen life, please consider joining us as we honor our Schützenkönig und Schützenkönigin, Joseph and Lorain Borgesen at their Royal Coronation Ball!

Unlike other events on our calendar, reservations are a MUST and seats will be reserved and the included catered meal must be secured. Call NOW for our remaining seats!

This past weekend marked another successful Oktoberfest at the DASV! Hard work on the part of our membership set the stage for a fantastic night under the lights of the tents, welcoming guests from across the region. Special thanks to our entertainment for the evening — the dancers of the Carpathia Club, DJ Glockenspiel, and -as always- Tommy Schober and the sounds of The Sorgenbrecher Band!

Schützenfest —the focal point of our year here at the DASV— is right around the corner. What are you, dear friends, most looking forward to?

1. The parade of the Schützen.

2 The Vogelschießen, the actual shooting competition of the marksmen to determine the next year’s royal Court.

3. The Gulasch, Kartoffelsalat, Bratwürste (and more) served up from Christine’s kitchen.

4. The refreshing cool “beverages” offered up by our dedicated bar staff.

Perhaps you most enjoy trying your own luck/skills on the range at the „Schießbude,“ or simply a pleasant afternoon with family and friends in our always inviting „Schützenwald .“
