This information was shared with me so I am resharing in case it would help anyone who is on SNAP and lost food during the power outage.

Did you know that if you receive SNAP and you lost food during the power outage, IDHS will reimburse you for the cost of food lost?

Here is the link to the official form. After completing it you can submit it through your ABE portal. Hope this helps someone!

A few rules to keep in mind:
- You only have 10 days after the outage to submit the form
- The power outage must last a minimum of 4 hours
- IDHS can only reimburse you up to the amount of your monthly SNAP benefit amount

Atwood Area Food Pantry will be open Saturday May 23rd from 8:30-11:00 am to residents of Piatt, Douglas, and Moultrie counties as well as residents of the ALAH, Bement, and Villa Grove school districts. We are located at 231 North Illinois Street in Atwood Illinois.

We have a variety of frozen meat, hamburger, ground pork, brats, canned meat, pears, grape fruit, cereal, canned fruits, canned vegetables, beans, fruit and nut mix, peanut butter, jelly, macaroni and cheese, cornbread, crackers, instant potatoes, cleaning items, a variety of dry goods, a variety of canned items, snacks, and more.

If you are arriving early and the line reaches the sidewalk parallel to the street please form the line to the south towards the railroad tracks.

Ainsley’s Birthday Bags will be available by request if you have a child in your household turning 1-17 in the next month.

Atwood Area Food Pantry will be open Saturday May 23rd from 8:30-11:00 am to residents of Piatt, Douglas, and Moultrie counties as well as residents of the ALAH, Bement, and Villa Grove school districts. We are located at 231 North Illinois Street in Atwood Illinois.

We are low on boxes. If you have totes or bags please plan to bring them for your groceries tomorrow.
