2026 Sheep Spring Weigh-In Information

* Date: May 16, 2026 from 8:00 to 10:00 am at the Sarchione Complex. Please do not be late. Call your Sheep Committee representative if you are having an unforeseen problem.
*Traffic pattern enter gate 8 (between the open goat and merchant building) and exit gate 6 (the gate between the bathrooms and horse arena). Please do not unload until you get to the scale.
*Scrapie Tags: Required to be in place before presenting your lamb at Weigh-In.
*All sheep must be castrated or banded
*Weigh-In: Lambs need to be on a halter. No lamb tubes, blankets, or chain halters allowed at scale.
*If any of your sheep have any contagious diseases such as sore mouth, hoof rot, or fungus, you must come at the end of weigh-in and notify a committee member before you unload.
*Change in Family Spare Rule: All lambs must be assigned to a Jr. Fair sheep project exhibitor at spring weigh-In. All lambs tagged by a family are available to each member of the family as a family spare. When entering 4-H Online, each member will enter their own lambs and all lambs tagged by the family.
*Fund Raiser: Sheep Committee is holding a Gun Raffle with proceeds going to the Jr. Fair Sheep Program. We are asking each family to sell 12 tickets. There will be a total of 500 tickets. Each family will be given 12 tickets at Weigh-in. We are required to track the tickets by number. Please do your best to sell the tickets. All money and any unsold tickets MUST be turned in to the Sheep Committee by August 1, 2026.

Housing forms are due by tomorrow April 14th at 5pm. If your lamb is not being housed at your own home you need to get a form from your advisor to fill out and return!

Market, showmanship, and breeding classes are posted on the bulletin board by the wash rack.

*Please make sure you sign up for OME if you have 2 lambs and you completed skillathon by noon Wednesday
*We need older members to sign up to help a cloverbud show their lamb at the beginning of the show thursday.
*There is also a sign up for Dress a Lamb which is on Friday.

Today is move in day! We can't wait to see everyone!
*Flow of traffic is coming in through the general parking lot and entering the new gravel drive between the Hamilton Arena and the Hoffman House and exiting by the horse arenas.
*Your sheep can arrive anytime after 11am but you MUST call or find Chuck Campbell to do your health check
*The child or parent and lamb MUST be in their assigned pen (they're labeled) at 5pm to get checked in and then you will be released to go weigh in
*You need to have your DUNF completed before coming to the fairgrounds using your county fair tag information

Let’s tie dye this town for Eva on Sunday the 24th! We have created these shirts in memory of Eva and would love your help celebrating her life. We have to move fast so we can have them for the 4-H members to wear them the Sunday of the fair. So with that said 4-H members join me in wearing these shirts Sunday of the fair. We would love to see nothing but tie dye through the 4-H barns. Parents also! We will have 2 pick up locations on Thursday the 21st at noon. Horse barn 29 at the Portage County fair and the Randolph Fire Department. Please make sure you select the correct location when purchasing. Everyone is welcome to purchase the shirts! All proceeds go to the Hayes family. To have them by fair we need to have the orders in by tomorrow at noon!! Thank you all in advance🩵🩵

If you are participating in carcass tonight you need to complete a DUNF form BEFORE you arrive on the fairgrounds. Below is the QR code and also a website you can go to if the code does not work.

You can arrive between 3:30-4 pm tonight and we will weigh from 4-4:30 pm. Please come in the gates from the general parking lot that are between the Hamilton Arena and the Hoffman house. You will exit out the horse gate. Please bring a completed Kiko cut sheet with your buyers name and phone number. And a 4x6 photo of the member with their lamb.

✨️Entries close TODAY! Make sure you have everything entered(market, carcass, showmanship, born and bred, dress a lamb, breeding, etc.....)

✨️Carcass is tomorrow Sunday the 10th. Please arrive between 3:30-4 to complete any last paperwork. You need to bring a 4x6 photo of the lamb and kid.
