Members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (or "Vincentians" ) are men and women who strive to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to individuals in need. We are young and old. Our members come in every shade of skin color. Some of us are wealthy, some are financially poor, but all of us are blessed with an awareness that our blessings (time, talent or treasure) are to be shar

ed with our brothers and sisters in need. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul offers tangible assistance to those in need on a person-to-person basis. It is this personalized involvement that makes the work of the Society unique. This aid may take the form of intervention, consultation, or often through direct dollar or in-kind service. An essential precept of the Society's work is to provide help while conscientiously maintaining the confidentiality and dignity of those who are served. The Society recognizes that it must assume, also, a role of advocacy for those who are defenseless or voiceless. Some 12 million persons are helped annually by Vincentians in the United States.

Please remember longtime Vincentian and Reentry volunteer, Joanie Blagdon, in your prayers. Joanie was called home to the Lord on Friday, April 3rd. A replay of her funeral Mass can be viewed in the shared post below. We are most grateful for Joanie's dedicated service to the District Council of Attleboro and to our neighbors in need.🙏

Today, we begin the holy season of Lent.

May this be a time of renewal, humility, and deeper conversion of heart as we walk with Christ and seek to serve Him in our neighbors in need.

Happy Feast Day of Blessed Rosalie Rendu.

A Daughter of Charity who served for decades in one of Paris’s poorest neighborhoods, Blessed Rosalie formed the earliest members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in the spirit of person-to-person service. She taught them to approach every neighbor with dignity, compassion, and presence.

Her words still guide us today: “If you have nothing to give, give yourself.”

Pray for us, Blessed Rosalie.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul joins Catholics around the world in welcoming Pope Leo XIV’s first Apostolic Exhortation, Dilexi Te (“I Have Loved You”).

The Holy Father’s call to serve the poor with love and compassion reflects the very heart of our Vincentian mission, one we have lived since our founding in 1833.

Every day, Vincentians seek the face of Christ in our neighbors through one-on-one encounters, shelters, food programs, prison ministry, and advocacy efforts that address the root causes of poverty.

"Love for the Lord, then, is one with love for the poor."

Happy Feast of St. Francis of Assisi!

Today we honor the beloved saint who gave up everything for Christ, lived with radical humility, and saw all creation as brothers and sisters.

His life reminds us to embrace simplicity, care for the poor, and love God’s world with joy.

🙏 St. Francis of Assisi, pray for us!
