We love Capron park zoo

Hey all. I'm Popil. Over the past few months, I’ve been working really hard on the new Capron Park Zoo website and a brand-new online ticketing system. 🦁🌿

I’m so honored to have the opportunity to help our local zoo, and I hope the new website and online ticketing experience will make visiting the zoo more convenient and enjoyable for everyone!

I hope you enjoy the new design! 💚

Today we officially launched our new website! ✨️ This is a huge step forward for Capron Park Zoo as guests can now purchase tickets online! These online tickets are valid for admission on any regular operating day! Attleboro residents still need to show proof of residence at the entrance to obtain a discount.

On our new website you can also book a birthday party, red panda encounter, purchase a membership, learn about our animals, and more! We also hope to incorporate an online gift shop at some point in the future as well.

Special thanks to Popil Art for working so many hours with us on creating our new platform! We hope our new website will make it even easier for our community to visit us. Let us know about your experience once you've tried it out!

❤️❤️❤️

As many guests are aware, Ramses our beloved male African lion recently turned 20 years old. As he has aged, our Animal Care and Veterinary teams have taken on increasingly specialized responsibilities to ensure he receives individualized care tailored to his unique medical needs. Thanks to this dedicated approach, Ramses has reached and even surpassed his expected life span. This is a testament to both his resilience and the exceptional care he has received throughout his life here at Capron Park Zoo.

Ramses is considered one of the oldest male lions living in an AZA-accredited facility. Like many geriatric animals, Ramses faces age-related health challenges and is currently receiving treatment for arthritis.

Recently we have observed that Ramses is showing signs of declined comfort in his back legs and has decreased interest in his favorite food items. Our Animal Care and Veterinary teams have made the thoughtful decision to transition him to hospice care.

In zoological settings, hospice care focuses on maintaining an animal's comfort, dignity, and quality of life while recognizing the changing needs that come with advanced age. This transition does not mean we have stopped caring for or treating Ramses. In fact, it allows us to provide him with even more individualized attention and support.

Please note that Ramses may be off exhibit at times. Our dedicated team will continue to closely observe Ramses each day, continually adapting his care as his needs evolve to ensure he maintains the highest possible quality of life.

Capron Park Zoo is the heart of Attleboro.

It is more than just a zoo—it is a treasured gem of our community, a place where generations of families have created lasting memories.

Now, more than ever, we need to stand together to protect our zoo.

Privatization will not solve the underlying problems. What we need is long-term planning, strong community support, and a shared commitment to ensuring that Capron Park Zoo continues to thrive for future generations.

Protecting Capron Park Zoo means protecting the heart of Attleboro.

The city will explore turning over operations of the Capron Park Zoo to a private entity, Attleboro Mayor Cathleen DeSimone told councilors Tuesday, as officials continue to grapple with financial instability. https://ow.ly/Lyj850ZsgEn
