: The very strong winds that Oklahoma has endured will be more relaxed today offering State, Local and Federal firefighting resources opportunity to continue improving containment on recent wildfires. Yesterday proved to result in problematic new wildfire occurrence coupled with spot fires and slopovers on fires from previous days including some of those occurring six days prior on March 14.

Composite fuel moisture, reflected in Energy Release Component (ERC), continues to degrade posing significant resistance to control and requiring less intense fire weather to drive problematic fire behavior. ERC values greater than the 70th Percentile translate into increased firefighting resources and extended resource commitment to contain wildfire incidents. By Saturday, almost the entirety of Oklahoma will exceed that threshold with much of the northern tier of the state tipping past the 90th Percentile as fire danger concern persists in Oklahoma. Stay vigilant Oklahoma. Read the full report at: bit.ly/oksitrep
