On June 30, Sons of Verona and Backpacks for Life held a bench dedication ceremony to remember Christopher Blum, a Verona Resident and Michael Halpert, Verona resident who was in the U.S. Navy, at Verona Park, NJ.

UPDATE!!! Finally ...we are In the process of making a bench dedication in Verona Park on june 30th 2019 in Michael’s and Chris’s names and to honor and remember Michael coming up on the 10 year angelversary on July 1st and Chris 18 years on June 21....
I have connected with Brett D’Allesandro from Verona who has created “Backpacks for life” organization, who also was a recipient of a SOV scholarship when he graduated from Verona High School.. Brett served in the military as a Marine and subsequently has been giving back to Veterans to help them get back on their feet after serving our Country.. We are in the process of putting the details together and when we have a definite on what and where this will take place I will be posting info .. very soon!! We are extremely grateful for this chance to continue our Son’s memory by dedicating a double bench at Verona Park, where they grew up and made so many special memories and friends.. Michael and I spent a lot of time at the Park over the years so to be able to do this is somewhat of a dream come true.. and so meaningful..
thank’s to Brett’s input and contribution from Backpacksforlife.org and Sons of Verona Memorial foundation we are able to pull this off with funds that were raised over the 5 years we had the Golf outings .... a big thank you to everyone for their support to make this possible ..
We Would love nothing more than to see some familiar faces there -everyone is welcome !!
pics and stories would be awesome too!!
We miss our boys and need to know they are remembered..love lives on❤️
