Cheers to another year!

In 2025 we joined organizations and collaboratively dug our hands in the soil with the intention of creating spaces the community as a whole can benefit from. Behind every bullet point accomplishment are heartfelt stories from a group of people who exchanged time, resources, and experience. Building bridges between each other and maintaining the ones already there, we have fostered a sense of connection that extends beyond the meeting rooms. A sense of connection not just within the coalition but also between the coalition and the community we have the honor of making a healthier place. Thus, the connection WITHIN the community has strengthened. All with the goal of creating long-term positive change for Atlantic City. To say we have grown is an understatement… and we are just getting started 🌱

🎙️ Big News for Atlantic City!
The Green Coalition of Atlantic City (GCAC) held a press conference at the Atlantic City Arts Foundation’s ARTeriors on November 20 to announce a groundbreaking Urban Agriculture Zoning Overlay Ordinance—currently under review by the Atlantic City Council. This innovative policy would create an Urban Agriculture District Overlay across residential, commercial, and resort zones, allowing community gardening, small-scale farming, and ecological resilience projects on underused or undersized land, both private and city-owned.

🌱 It would be the first ordinance of its kind in New Jersey—positioning Atlantic City as a statewide leader in sustainable urban development.

🎙️ The press conference also highlighted State Senate Bill S4350 / A5627, sponsored by Senators Shirley K. Turner and Bob Smith, which would create a statewide program to preserve underutilized urban land for farming, community gardens, and urban forestry.

❗CALLS TO ACTION ❗
