Right now, several bills are moving through the Gold Dome that claim to protect you from rising energy costs—but don’t be fooled.

The Reality: None of the current bills in their amended form (SB 34, HB 1063, or SB 410) actually guarantee that Georgia families won't be stuck paying for the massive infrastructure needed by giant data centers. Most of these proposals just keep the "status quo," allowing Georgia Power to shift costs onto everyday people while making record profits.

Where things stand:
- SB 34 & HB 1063: These have been weakened to offer "protections" in name only.
- SB 410: No new data center tax exemptions BUT also has weakened language from SB 34 and doesn't guarantee ratepayer protections.

The Bottom Line: Intent isn't law. You may be still on the hook. We need these bills to include ratepayers protections. It's simple: Big Tech must pay for its own power.
