When swept through South Georgia, it left behind more than damaged homes. It disrupted lives.

For one grandmother in Valdosta, the storm came during an already incredibly difficult season. After losing her daughter, she stepped in to raise her young granddaughter while also managing serious health challenges of her own. As her roof continued to deteriorate, every rainfall brought new leaks, further damaging her home and adding to the overwhelming burden she was already carrying.

Unsure where to turn, she found hope through Inspiritus.

In partnership with Team Rubicon, our Disaster Relief team replaced her roof and repaired the interior ceiling damage caused by water intrusion, restoring a safe, secure place for her and her granddaughter to call home.

While her health journey continues, she no longer has to face the constant worry of the next storm. Instead, she can focus on healing, caring for her granddaughter, and looking toward the future with renewed hope.

Recovery is about more than rebuilding homes. It’s about restoring peace of mind, strengthening families, and walking alongside survivors every step of the way.
