Nov.7, 2025 ...Tuskegee Airmen Global Academy is a S.T.E.A.M. school that cultivates "Change Agents" through high-quality, stimulating real-world learning experiences. The best experiences comes from the partnership with the Atlanta Chapter Tuskegee Airmen Incorporated.
This TA history and educational engagement with the students included a visit from ACTAI Torchbearer, Rod McLean, W.O. Smith and William 'Bill' Patterson. They visited with Mr. Scott's elementary students and provided a 'gasping' exposure to what engineering is about and a video of the Lockheed Martin X-59 Quesst Aircraft. ("Quiet SuperSonic Technology"), sometimes styled QueSST, which is an American experimental supersonic aircraft under development by LM-Skunk Works for NASA's Low-Boom Flight Demonstrator project. ***DAY #3***
ACTAI-YEC 2025 Summer Camp Program

At the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force (175 Bourne Ave, Pooler, GA 31322)

https://www.mightyeighth.org/

The students traveled to Savannah, Georgia, to research and view the B-17 aircraft, which played a pivotal role in pioneering high-altitude, daylight precision bombing—an air war strategy that changed the course of World War II. Opportunities at the museum included: The Art Gallery of WWI and Hitler's prelude to War, The Battle of Britain exhibit,Day of Infamy- Japanese Exhibit, B17 Bomber, The Mighty Eight Theater, Hall of Valor, Fly Girls of WW Il and The Tuskegee Airmen Exhibit...
The museum is a partner archive with the Veterans’ History Project at the Library of Congress and it houses more than 1,000 unpublished personal accounts written by Eighth Air Force veterans.

The students marveled at the B17 BOMBER, an iconic aircraft in which the tour guide helped them gain a deeper appreciation for the young airmen of the Eighth Air Force who flew daring missions over occupied Europe.

***Day 2*** Students Tour to The Southern Museum of Flight Aviation (Birmingham, Alabama)and SQUADRON Projects

https://southernmuseumofflight.org/the-tuskegee-airmen-trailblazers-in-aviation-black-history-and-civil-rights/

ACTAI-YEC 2025 STEM / STREAM Summer Camp Program allowed the students to learn about the Tuskegee Airmen at the Southern Museum of Flight through a guided tour by 'Mr. Charles' showing us exhibits featuring aircraft, historical images, objects, and videos. Our camp students also learned about the five Tuskegee Airmen who have been enshrined in the Alabama Aviation Hall of Fame, which is housed at the museum. Also, the Airmen trained on the PT-19 Cornell type aircraft that was the primary trainer aircraft used to teach basic flying skills. With an open cockpit and a 200-horsepower inline engine, the PT-19 provided student pilots with an introduction to fundamental flight maneuvers, takeoffs, landings, and aerial navigation.

Later the students engaged in the Soar High Center, the Flight Simulator Lab where each one gained great hands-on experience with the challenge of learning to fly the virtual Flight Simulators.
Students learned aerodynamics, weather principles, 3-D design concepts, and more aviation history.

***Orientation and Day #1***
The 2025 ACTAI-Youth Education Committee (YEC) started another fun filled STEM / STREAM summer Camp Program beginning with a tour to The Museum of History and Holocaust Education (MHHE) (Kennesaw State University, GA) Oral History Program. The students were able to review the preserves of first-hand accounts of past events on film.Through the Legacy Series, they received accounts of the experiences of Holocaust survivors, World War II veterans, home front workers, and other individuals who lived during the Second World War. Through Immigrant Stories, the museum captured and interviewed individuals who had/have first or second-hand experiences of negative immigration, genocide and/or racism. Documented Original Tuskegee Airmen (DOTA) Dr. HILLARD POUNCY,JR was amongst the interviewees and is living today at the age of 103 in Austell, Georgia.
