We are thrilled to announce that James Kennerley will become the next Director of Music at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in the fall of 2026.

James will follow Scott Atchison, whose extraordinary ministry has shaped the worship and music life of our church and congregation.

An internationally accomplished conductor, organist, composer, and tenor, James brings deep experience in sacred music, choral leadership, and worship. Please join us in welcoming James to Peachtree Road! We look forward to the gifts he will bring to our congregation and community.

The Atlanta Summer Organ Festival returns to the Sanctuary at Peachtree Road for an evening with organist Jeremy Filsell. An England native, Jeremy is Director of Music of Christ Church, Episcopal in Bradenton, Florida, a post he assumed in August 2025. His career combined an international recital and teaching career with being director of music at The Church of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Washington DC, Artist-in-residence at Washington National Cathedral, and Professor of Organ at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore. From 2019 to 2025, he was Organist and Director of Music at St. Thomas Church, Fifth Avenue, following in the footsteps of illustrious predecessors Gerre Hancock, John Scott, and Daniel Hyde.

Established in 1995 to bring more classical music to the summer season, the festival has been hosted at Peachtree Road since 2002, carrying on a tradition of welcoming both renowned and rising organists. Whether the organ is familiar to you or entirely new, there is room for you here. A dessert reception follows the recital.

This recital opens the Elizabeth B. Stephens International Organ Competition.
