By uniting young women cross-culturally, we create space for self-exploration, sisterhood, and conscious citizenship. WGEI challenges institutional barriers by making global education and social change accessible for young women of color from the southeast United States of America. We work with young women from high schools in Atlanta, Georgia, Louisville, Kentucky, and New Orleans, Louisiana. Our

Why Morocco? We believe in the power of challenging stereotypes. When our students have an in-country experience with their Moroccan peers, host families, and professors, they will return to the United States with a more wholesome understanding of what it means to be Moroccan and what it means to be Muslim (though not all Moroccans are Muslim). This is important for our future generation as they shape solutions to some of our most pressing global issues. Arabic is on the list of critical languages. Almost all foreign languages are marketable in our current professional world, but critical languages are rising in demand. We believe that introducing young students to Arabic will open the door for them to further pursue Arabic or other critical languages in college. Why women from marginalized communities? We believe in the importance of creating space for all women in politics, business, and positions of power in general. We know that the earlier this is done, the more effective.
