Somalia, October 3, 1993

The Battle of the Bläck Sea in Mogadishu, also known as
“Black Hawk Down,” was part of Operation-Gothic Serpent”

It was fought on 3-4 October 1993, in Mogadishu, Somalia, between Us Special Operations Forces known as “Task Force Ranger” against Somali-militia fighters in Mogadishu.

American forces suffered 18 deaths, 73 wounded, and one helicopter pilot captured.
At least one Pakistani soldier and one Malaysian soldier were killed as part of the rescue forces.
