Earlier this month we celebrated 25 years of the Jim Casey Youth Opportunities Initiative- working to improve outcomes for youth in care. 25 years of partenership and impact. The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta was the original pilot site and then after answering w request for vision, the youth engagement work moved to MAAC and then soon after the rest of the Jim Casey strateigies. We are proud to have been a partner with the Annie E Casey Foundation in this work for older youth in care.

MAAClass of 2026: Jaada 🎓

Jaada has consistently been a friendly, engaging and focused young person who continues to thrive and achieve her goals.  With the support and encouragement of her dedicated foster parent, Ms. Sumpter, Jaada experienced both placement and school stability. 
She began her journey at Buford High School as a freshman and proudly walked across the graduation stage as a member of the Class of 2026.  Prior to graduation, Jaada successfully completed the requirements of the National Health career Association and earned her Patient Care Technician/Assistant certificate.

She has been accepted to Georgia Gwinnett College, where she will begin her next chapter this fall studying nursing. 

Way to go Jaada! We are so proud of you!
