We are helping Foodwell Alliance with their new garden in southeast Atlanta. Today was just clearing the brush so we could see the kudzu and boy, is there a lot. We will be here for at least a week.

On Saturday, we teamed with Chattahoochee Riverkeeper and Lincoln Memorial Group for a clean-up at Hollywood Cemetery.

Being careful not to disturb the poison ivy (which is a valuable food source for migratory birds), Grapevine and trumpet Vines with saved these trees in an hour.

This took 90 minutes, with a 15 minute distraction to relocate a baby copperhead snake. We did one tree with no chemicals (Stephen did that one because Wendy is weaker and lazier) while the other two we cut and treated.

Devine GA is currently working at Shirley Franklin Park eradicating kudzu from one section at the entrance, using our technique of following the vine to the crown and cutting it at the source. We do not use chemicals or spray. This is a side-by-side comparison to see if this technique is as effective as folia spray or cutting and treating. We are doing this to help the City better understand the plant and the best way of dealing with it.
