🧪🔬 Citizen science in action!

Last night, community members joined West Atlanta Watershed Alliance, Fulton County Public Works, and Georgia Adopt-A-Stream for our Chemical Monitoring Workshop, taking a deep dive into the science of protecting our local waterways.

Participants learned how to test and analyze key water quality indicators, gained hands-on experience with chemical monitoring techniques, and took their skills into the field at Mozley Park to put their knowledge into practice. By becoming certified volunteer monitors, these dedicated residents are helping collect critical data that supports healthier streams and stronger communities.

A huge thank you to everyone who spent their evening learning, exploring, and investing in the health of our watershed. Every test conducted and every stream monitored helps build a more informed and engaged community of environmental stewards.

Do you care about clean water, healthy ecosystems, and making a tangible impact in your community?

Join West Atlanta Watershed Alliance (WAWA), Fulton County Public Works, and Georgia Adopt-A-Stream for an engaging Chemical Monitoring Workshop designed to equip community members with the skills to assess and monitor local stream health.

Participants will receive hands-on training in water quality testing, learn how chemical indicators reveal the health of our waterways, and gain the opportunity to earn a Georgia Adopt-A-Stream Chemical Monitoring Certification. The workshop concludes with a field test at Mozley Park, where participants will put their new skills into action.

This gathering is an opportunity to connect with fellow residents, learn about what’s happening in our community, and enjoy an evening of fellowship in a welcoming space.

Whether you’re a longtime supporter, a new neighbor, or simply curious about the work happening across Atlanta’s west side, Community Night is a place where voices are heard, relationships are built, and collective action begins.
