LAST CALL! GAA's TCC Work Day is THIS FRIDAY (Oct. 9), at Violet Stout Park in Lithia Springs. We will meet on site at 8AM. We’ll spend the day preparing the site & trees for the 28th Annual GAA Tree Climbing Championship. Come spend the day with us, learn something along the way, and help us get the park ready for one of GAA’s biggest events of the year! If your company would like to be considered for TCC's Company Axe Award, this is a great opportunity to earn the required volunteer hours! We will kick off the day with a group Tree Risk Assessment of the trees being considered for use in the competition. If you are interested in learning more about how tree risk assessments are performed and getting some practical, hands-on experience applying those concepts in the field, join us. No need to register; just join us on the 9th.

This year, GAA has managed the Tree Removal Assistance Program. As of Sept. 30, we've facilitated the removal of 64 hazardous trees, reducing risk for 48 homeowners across GA. To date, we have partnered with 20 different tree-care contractors and invested $318,473 in tree-removal services, with an additional $262,624 in projects approved & awaiting removal or final verification. GAA is excited to begin the next phase of the program: tree replacement. Urban EcoLogic has been selected as our tree-planting partner, with replacement plantings expected to begin in Nov. By replacing ever tree removed, TRAP will help restore the environmental, economic & community benefits these trees provided for years to come. https://www.georgiaarborist.org/trap
