Atlanta's low-income seniors may qualify for financial assistance in removing or trimming hazardous trees. This program is funded by the City of Atlanta's Tree Trust Fund and delivered through GAA. If you are a senior in Atlanta who is 65 or older and has an annual household income of $40,000 or less, you can apply for tree removal. APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN! GAA also has a program for tree removal assistance (also called TRAP) to residents of GA. To be considered for either award, you must meet certain criteria and follow a specific application process (available on our website): https://www.georgiaarborist.org/trap

Skills Improvement Workshop (Introducción a la escalada de competición: taller de mejora de habilidades), 8AM-5PM, Fri. June 24, in Decatur, GA. This course is in ENGLISH AND SPANISH. This course is an opportunity for workers to sharpen their climbing skills from secured entry to descent; you will be trained on various methods, scenarios, & proper practices in tree climbing. The workshop is recommended for climbers with 18 months+ experience. This is NOT a beginner's course. [Bilingüe] Introducción a la escalada de competición: taller de mejora de habilidades (Inglés Y español), de 8:00 a 17:00, Viernes, 24 de julio, Decatur, GA. Este curso ofrece a los trabajadores la oportunidad de perfeccionar sus habilidades de escalada, desde el acceso seguro hasta el descenso.
