The NAACP Georgia State Conference joins the community in mourning the passing of Civil Rights leader, Joe Beasley. He devoted his life to uplifting our people, confronting injustice, and standing steadfast on the front lines of the struggle for human and civil rights not only in Georgia, but across the globe. His voice was bold, his spirit unbreakable, and his impact immeasurable.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family, loved ones, and all whose lives were touched by his courage, leadership, and unwavering commitment to justice. We will honor his legacy in the most meaningful way: by continuing the work to which he dedicated his life. Rest In Power, Joe Beasley!

The NAACP National 'Stop Dirty Data' Strategy Summit is a two-day convening, bringing together NAACP leaders, partners, and community advocates to align on a national strategy addressing the rapid growth of data centers and their impact on Black, Brown, and low-income communities.

📅 Dates: December 11-13
📍 Where: Washington, D.C.

What to Expect:
Led in partnership with the NAACP Virginia State Conference, this convening will feature critical discussions on policy, legal strategy, narrative and communications, regional case studies, and upcoming campaign priorities. Together, we will collaborate on next steps for research, organizing, and policy coordination, while preparing for major actions and milestones in early 2026.

Why This Matters:
Data center policy is a foundation of equity, democracy, and regional innovation. Your participation is essential to this effort. Together, we can ensure that the growth of data centers prioritizes equity, environmental justice, and the well-being of our communities.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Bishop Reginald T. Jackson. Bishop Jackson was a steadfast leader, a compassionate servant of his community, and a strong partner of the Georgia NAACP. His tireless advocacy for justice, faith, and the empowerment of Black communities leaves a lasting legacy that will not be forgotten.

Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and all who were touched by his life and ministry. May they find comfort in the love he shared and the countless lives he inspired.

Local NAACP Units across the state will be hosting community distribution events in the coming weeks — ensuring that no Georgian is left behind during this critical time.

The Georgia NAACP celebrates and thanks every voter who participated in this week’s Public Service Commission and Municipal Elections across our state.
Your voices, your votes, and your commitment to civic engagement continue to shape the future of Georgia. Every ballot cast strengthens our democracy and ensures that the needs of our communities are represented at every level of government.

We honor the historic milestones achieved in these elections and reaffirm our mission to protect and advance voting rights for all Georgians.

Congratulations on this historic achievement Mayor Williams.

We are proud of you.

Thank you, Stockbridge!
Yesterday, we made history — becoming the youngest mayor in our city’s history and the youngest African-American mayor in Georgia.

I’m deeply grateful to my family, friends, supporters, and especially my campaign team the ones who worked day and night to connect with every voter across our community.

This victory belongs to all of us. I’m committed to building a better, stronger Stockbridge and now that we’re elected, we’re going to do it together.

We’re all in for Stockbridge. Let’s get to work.
