Phillip Arnold - aka Pip from NBC's "The Voice" - began Youth in Mission, Corp. (YiM), a Non-Profit org., to support qualified youth desiring to serve on mission trips but without the means to do so. Annual scholarships are awarded that aid in travel expenses for said mission trips. Pip’s desire is for the recipient’s focus to be on the mission work and not on costly travel expense. Teen groups an
d young adult ministries are extended applications which YiM then carefully screens for impassioned youth who are serious about the ministry of serving others. Pip designed and wears the YiM Silver Fern wristband in honor of mentor and long-time friend, Stewart Hay, a New Zealand native who lived his life for missions until he passed away in 2011. Stewart organized, funded, served and involved youth in mission work – including young Pip – until he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Glioblastoma, a malignant brain tumor. Pip uses his talent to continue Stewart Hay’s ministry and legacy with Youth in Mission by wearing the YiM wristband when he performs. In the past, Pip’s concerts have raised $ toward mission trips to Africa, Haiti, Vietnam, and Guatemala. When he made it on to the TV show “The Voice,” Pip knew God had given him reason to connect with young viewers and spread his message of youth serving in the mission fields. Fans began ordering replicas of Pip's wristband sold on PipMusic.com website. All proceeds from wristbands sold on-line and at youth conferences, etc., as well as receipts from individual and corporate donations, go to YiM. Thank you and God bless!
