Hello CV,
In lieu of a full annual member meeting, CorpsVets,Inc. (the parent company of Atlanta CV Drum & Bugle Corps) will hold a virtual meeting Sunday, November 12th, 2023 at 1 pm. The purpose of the meeting will be to present and discuss a proposed revision to our Bylaws, and a vote will be held at the end of the meeting. Any alumni in good standing may attend and vote. A meeting link will be sent out closer to the meeting date.

A letter from Catherine Petway, the mother of alumni Jeremy Turner.

"Hello,

My name is Catherine Petway and I am the mother of Jeremy Turner. My son was a member of
Atlanta CV for the 2013 - 2014 seasons. He was in the brass section and played the
euphonium. I am writing to you today to inform you of his unexpected passing on June 25, 2023 at the age of 26. I know that it has been some time since Jeremy was a member, but I thought that I should let you know and kindly ask if you can share the information with the other alumni. There may be people out there that would want to know and possibly attend a memorial gathering to say good-bye.

Jeremy absolutely loved his years with your organization. At 17-18 years old, he was one of the first teenagers from Barrow County to join a drum corps. The music and field design was
extremely challenging compared to the way his high school performed. Jeremy loved this more
intense, competitive form of music. He enjoyed the travel and the relationships he formed with
the members and staff. After Jeremy’s first season, when he returned to playing at his school,
everyone noticed the incredible growth in his musical skills and attitude towards leadership
within the group. While the practices and standards were tough, Jeremy found a great deal of joy being with Atlanta CV. When I would pick him up at the end of weekend practices he was
always hyped for what he had done and what was next. Jeremy’s enthusiasm for drum corps brought two other students into your program: Courtlin Stewart in 2014 and Madison Turner (his sister) in 2015. Joining Atlanta CV and the experience Jeremy gained under your tutelage led to his becoming a member of the Madison Scouts in 2016. Thank you so much for allowing Jeremy to be a part of something bigger than himself and giving his talent a place to shine.

We will be having a memorial gathering on Saturday, July 8, 2023, from 2:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. at Crowell Brothers Funeral Home, 201 Morningside Drive, Buford, GA 30518. Jeremy’s obituary can be found at www.crowellbrothers.com with additional details regarding family, gifts, and more.

CV needs some volunteer assistance on camp weekends. If you can paint, drive screws, attach vinyls, and just basically help with whatever comes up...we can use you.
Especially needed next weekend and the first two weekends in August (I will be out of town).
