Some connections are bigger than the moment.

We first met these two young men during our Christmas toy giveaway at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta while they were supporting their sister. We immediately connected over a friendly game of two-on-two. Since then, we’ve stayed connected with this amazing family.

Over the weekend, we got a chance to catch up and surprise them with a special pair of Ja 1s and LeBrons for the new school year.

Two amazing, respectful and appreciative young men. Great job, Mom and Dad. And thank you for allowing us into your family’s lives and for continuing to stay connected with us.

Moments like this remind us why we do what we do. When we bring sports, activities and a little joy to Children’s, it’s not just about the patients. It’s about the families too. Because when a child is receiving care, the entire family is on that journey with them.

If we can provide a few moments of relief, connection and something to smile about, then we’re doing what we set out to do.

As we continue our For(e) the Future Campaign at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, we’re reminded of why this work matters.

For so many young people, school has officially kicked off. But for others, their days look very different — spent in a hospital room, sometimes for weeks or even months at a time.

We wanted to create a chance for these young people to step away from the hospital room for a little while — to play, laugh, connect and simply be kids.

We brought sports gear, donated a soccer goal, Atlanta Hawks swag, water bottles, jerseys, school supplies, arts and crafts, and created a Sports Game Day filled with friendly games of mini golf, basketball, co****le and Jenga. More than anything, we wanted to create moments of joy, relief and normalcy for young people and their families navigating difficult circumstances.

This is at the heart of our mission at AME: using sports, culture and community to create meaningful opportunities and positive experiences that inspire and empower the next generation.

A huge thank you to our incredible corporate community partners, Kaiser Permanente and the Atlanta Hawks, for joining us in this effort. We truly couldn’t have done it without you.

And to all of the doctors, providers, nurses, staff and care teams at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta — thank you for allowing us into your space and trusting us to do what we do. The work you do every day makes moments like these possible, and we’re honored to play a part.

And a special thank you to Miss Georgia for coming out, spending time with our young people and helping us put even more smiles on their faces. We were truly honored to have you with us.

Thanks to Children’s Health Care of Atlanta and all of the strong, resilient patients we were able to interact with today!

You all are truly amazing!

At our Summer For(e) the Future activation, we donated books, basketball shoes, plush toys, and more. We’re so proud of all the incredible patients for allowing us to spend time with you and bring a little joy during your stay at Children’s.

Special thanks to Nike for donating basketball shoes and to the Atlanta Hawks for providing swag giveaways that helped make today even more special for the patients.

A huge thank you to our volunteers for showing up and showing out. We appreciate each and every one of you!

Last week, we brought together students, coaches, and emerging leaders for a powerful day of learning, connection, and real conversation around AI, leadership, and career readiness—in collaboration with Microsoft.

From an interactive workshop to a high-level panel featuring voices connected to Georgia Tech Athletics and the Atlanta Dream, the energy in the room was special.

Shoutout to our moderator Zachary Sharp, a journalism major at Morehouse College, for leading an engaging and thoughtful conversation and setting the tone for the room.

We’re proud to create opportunities that place young people in positions of leadership.
