Thriving Pink, a local nonprofit organization in Yolo County, is honored to support Project Pink by helping to distribute Ann’s books to the breast cancer community. This year, 35 grant recipients received financial assistance for immediate and essential needs, and referrals to Pink Peer support from others on the same journey. Each of them also received one of six books authored by Ann, including Pink Tips. Thank you Ann and Project Pink for inspiring many to provide help and hope for women with breast cancer!

As we remember our beloved Ann during the next few days, we invite you to share your favorite Ann story: one of inspiration, humor, or a β€œsighting” (when she gives you a clear sign that she is with you). If you’ve got two stories, share them both! πŸŒˆπŸ€βœ¨πŸ‘

Some of Ann Murray Paige's biggest fans! Featured center, MJ Murray, Ann's mother.

This is our ultimate goal: to deliver Pink Tips to those who need it most. Pink Tips provides humor, tips, and endless comfort to those who feel overwhelmed by the battle. We CAN show up every day by getting this book into their hands.

You got this!

16. rock on

Money may make the world go around, but music really drives the beat. There are times when the difficulty of the cancer experience makes most things too much to bear. But listening is always easy, and there's nothing like a favorite tune to calm the nerves and massage the soul.

What's your favorite song to rock-out to?! I've been known to belt out "Lean on Me" by Bill Withers in the karaoke booth. Let's allow those in need to do just that, lean on us or this book. Please nominate a hospital or cancer center below to receive free copies of Pink Tips.

2013 the one hundred honoree Ann Murray Paige shares her inspiring story

Ann Murray Paige had an unforgettable strength which was shown through her vulnerability as well as her humor. Here is another excerpt from her book "Pink Tips":

15. go commando
I don't mean underwear, I'm talking about your head. Every now and then it's important to look a bald head in the face and appreciate all it symbolizes: the fight, the courage, the strength and the determination to succeed.

An excerpt from "Pink Tips":

3. just show up.
A breast cancer diagnosis can take two tones: either 'this is impossible' or 'I've no time for this'. But you can do this. And you must do this because the world needs you in it. If you have the cancer, you must beat it. If you are the friend, you can help. You don't have to have all the answers or figure it all out, You just have to show up for the fight.

Ann Murray Paige was a wonderful writer, speaker, journalist, and blogger who inspired many. She was co-founder of Project Pink and co-producer of The Breast Cancer Diaries film. She took on the battle with cancer in the same manner she did everything else in life, by immediately finding an opportunity to help and inspire others through her experience.

Ann published six books which are all available at www.Amazon.com. Her books include: PINK DIARY (a journal of her first year of diagnosis), WORDS TO LIVE BY (a chronicle of her blogs, 3 book series), PINK TIPS (50 tips through adversity), and A PINK RIBBON (children's book). "What You Do Every Day Matters!" She loved her family and friends, and left us all with many gifts that continue to give.
