At MODA we use to teach not only design and STEM, but also community building and well being. In one of this week's Virtual After School Studios, young designers can strengthen creative confidence, attention to detail, collaboration, and designing for belonging and well-being.

Join us for an urban design project that uses the aesthetic! We'll use Minecraft as a CAD program and collaborate with other young designers to create cozy cafes, cottages, shops, gardens, and more!

Artists and scientists have a lot in common. Both topics are all about understanding and describing the world around us! And right now, Atlanta Science Festival in partnership with Georgia Tech Research Institute, and MODA invite K-12 students in Georgia to participate in an ‘art of science’ art contest!

Participants can make 2D art, 3D art, or a video game as long as the work is about a STEM topic. Winners will receive prize packs from the Festival while Winners and honorable mentions will see their work displayed in interesting spots around Atlanta!

In 79 AD, the volcano Vesuvius erupted and destroyed the Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Lately, there have been a lot of cool discoveries coming from Pompeii, and new excavations are about to kick-off at Herculaneum! So exciting!⁠

We’re exploring the ancient Roman world in a spring break camp that starts on April 5. Campers interested in archaeology, urban design, lava, and natural disasters are invited to join to build, destroy, and excavate their own ancient cities while learning about how the Romans lived their daily lives.⁠
