The Arts & Letters Committee in partnership with the Social Action Committee present “The Banned Book Forum: From Our LIPS: Literacy’s Intersectionality with Power in our Schools” tomorrow on Saturday, March 14, 2026 from 11AM to 1PM at Cascade United Methodist Church.

A panel discussion on the impact of banned books in the K-12 education system and censorship of African American History and works by African American Authors.

Panelists include:
- Senator Kim Jackson, Georgia State Senate, Minority Whip

- April Wright, Educator, Author, & Director of Individual Giving, National Black Arts Festival

The Collegiate Mental Health Forum entitled, "The State of Our Minds: We Are Stronger Together" is being hosting by the Physical & Mental Health Committee on this Sunday, March 8, 2026 from 1:00pm - 3:00pm at the Life Development Center (LDC) at Greenbriar Mall.

This event was rescheduled from its original date of January 31, 2026 due to the winter weather advisory in Metropolitan Atlanta.

This mental health forum's purpose is to discuss relevant mental health issues and provide resources to facilitate coping and thriving.

This event will include a collegiate forum, resources for coping, a mental health expert panel, opportunities for networking, door prizes and lunch.

Collegiate students from all Metropolitan area colleges, technical schools, high school students and students from the surrounding area are welcome to take part in this forum.

Tomorrow the Physical and Mental Health Committee will host the virtual “Go Red” Heart Health Forum at 7:00PM.

The forum will feature stories of survival from heart disease. We will also hear recommendations from a health care expert on ways to prevent and treat heart disease.

“Go Red” is a campaign launched by the American Heart Association to highlight that heart disease is the #1 cause of morbidity and mortality among women ♥️
