Many people look at the word hood to be someone or a place that is violent, brutal, and gang oriented. However, hood is a word that derived from the word neighborhood. A neighborhood is an area set apart for some purpose, having a customized feature or people living in a particular area. So, everyone is hood or lives in a neighborhood. So, the question is what hood are you claiming? Are you Helpin

g Others Obtain Direction or are you Helping Others Obtain Destruction? We are here to help others obtain direction. We are here to help guide one another to seek higher education, to provide support through brotherhood/sisterhood, through expressing acts of compassion to others and ourselves and to direct each other to success and to stay successful. Mission Statement

The mission is to help each other and others to succeed in life by providing education, direction, compassion, and brotherhood/ sisterhood in at-risk communities. Vision

The vision of H.O.O.D is to empower brothers and sisters to be an active citizen in their communities by meeting the needs in at-risk areas, creating non-violent socials, and partnering with other organizations to help meet the needs in our local communities. Education

Education is important. A lot of people are misguided due to the lack of education or knowledge. Through our organization we will provide education and knowledge on how to excel in the workplace, home, school, and in the community by partnering with different organizations who are subject matter experts in each area above. Direction

Without direction it is impossible to navigate through life. Living life without direction is like walking blindly which can cause a lot of unnecessary heartache and pain. In our organization we will try our best to lead people in the right direction so they can have a successful life. Compassion

Compassion is the key ingredient to our organization. To receive you must give by using wisdom and with a willing and ungrudging spirit. Helping others is helping us. Without wanting to help others we cannot help ourselves. Brotherhood/Sisterhood

Without brotherhood and sisterhood, it will be impossible to make it in this world. We as human beings are designed to help and support one another. By being supportive of one another one can excel to the highest heights in life. Two is always better than one because when one falls the other can lift him/her up. With three or more mountains can be moved, trails and tribulation can be overcome, and success can be easily obtained.
