Georgia Academy of Music Changing lives through music
Founded in 1973, The Georgia Academy of Music is a not for profit community music school offering premiere musical instructio

The Georgia Academy of Music is the oldest standing music school institution of it’s kind in the southeastern United States. We have been the leader and model to many schools in and around Atlanta since 1973. Our faculty members are professional musicians with diverse backgrounds. They have received their training from all around the world including the United States, Russia, Europe and Asia. All

of our faculty members are musically degreed professionals. Some also serve on the faculty of local colleges and universities

Many faculty members are active performers in groups around Atlanta and beyond. This includes various genres ranging from classical to jazz to R&B bands. This is an added benefit for our students to learn from their teachers performing in action

Many families take advantage of our large and diverse lesson offerings by having several children take lessons simultaneously with different faculty members. This offers a convenience to many families with a hectic schedule. The Academy offers a diverse range of programs for age 6 months through seniors all in one location. Our Musical Beginnings program is the foundation for many students that go on to take private lessons here at the Academy. All ages and levels are welcome to study here at the Academy. There are programs for everyone. The Academy offers monthly student recitals during the school year. This is an added benefit to our students. Recitals give each student an opportunity to perform in front of family, friends and peers. We typically offer several recitals one each Sunday afternoon recital day

Our Suzuki group classes offer a group experience for the young Suzuki student. This enables the children to have an added group learning experience for their musical development. More advanced Suzuki students often perform with the younger players for our outside performances around metropolitan Atlanta.
