🦈 It’s the first day of Shark Week! And every year, I get my hopes up.

Because I love sharks.

Not just the toothy ones or the fast ones or the ones that leap out of the water in slow motion. But all of them.

The glowing ones. The striped ones. The ones with saw-shaped faces or hammer heads or frilly gills. The gentle giants. The deep-sea weirdos. The ones that clean coral reefs.

There are over 500 species of sharks, and they play a vital role in keeping our oceans healthy. Most are harmless, misunderstood, and at risk because of human activity.

This week, let’s do better.

💙 Learn about one you’ve never heard of.
💙 Celebrate sharks for what they really are: ancient, beautiful, essential.

🌟 Meet the Firework Jellyfish
This deep-sea beauty is known as the firework jellyfish because it looks like a floating explosion of light!

Found over 4,000 feet deep near Mexico, this jelly’s tentacles light up like a starburst when disturbed. It’s not bioluminescent (it doesn’t make its own light), but the way it reflects surrounding light makes it look like a living firework show underwater.

🎆 Happy 4th of July! While we celebrate with fireworks and fun, let’s also protect the oceans we love. Did you know that fireworks leave behind plastic shells, chemicals, and litter that often end up in waterways?

I am so happy to finally have my NEW stickers and designs available on my website! These are my new favorites without a doubt. I put a lot of thought and effort into these. They were inspired by my trip to Hawaii and California. I hope you love them as much as I do! Each sticker is $3 and I donate the proceeds to help save our oceans! Today is World Ocean Day!

Did you know oceans cover more than 70% of Earth's surface and are home to avoid 700,000 million species! And I'm so grateful to have just returned from Hawaii and California where I got to see some of these amazing creatures.

I will never ever forget snorkeling with manta rays! It is the coolest thing I have ever done. Look at how incredible these harmless filter feeders are!

And in honor of World Ocean Day, I made a donation to - whose goal is a sustainable future for the oceans, where manta rays and their relatives thrive in healthy, diverse marine ecosystems. Thank you for everything you do!
