Henry Queen and the Atlanta Business Chronicle did a wonderful job capturing what we hope to build with our new East Atlanta Skateshop. It’s not simply a retail space, but another welcoming place for young people, families, and neighbors to connect in the community we have called home for more than 28 years. It’s also a platform for youth entrepreneurship and belonging and a critical expansion of our Teen Club programming and capacity.
We are especially grateful for the support this effort has already received from neighbors, local businesses, and local leadership from East Atlanta Community Association, East Atlanta Business Association, East Atlanta Parents Network, East Atlanta Strut, and so many others who have encouraged us as we work toward opening the doors at 481-A Flat Shoals Avenue SE.
There is still plenty of work ahead as we finish fitting out the space and navigate the remaining steps toward opening, but we are excited about what is taking shape.
Thanks again to the Atlanta Business Chronicle for telling the story and to our East Atlanta community for continuing to believe in what East Atlanta Kids Club can build here.
The full article is available at the link below, and we hope you’ll read and share with others who believe in creative platforms for youth opportunity and placemaking. We still need and welcome support in every form it might take. Thanks now as ever for standing alongside as we continue to build up our community!
East Atlanta Village is no longer known just for its edgy nightlife scene.
