Henry Queen and the Atlanta Business Chronicle did a wonderful job capturing what we hope to build with our new East Atlanta Skateshop. It’s not simply a retail space, but another welcoming place for young people, families, and neighbors to connect in the community we have called home for more than 28 years. It’s also a platform for youth entrepreneurship and belonging and a critical expansion of our Teen Club programming and capacity.

We are especially grateful for the support this effort has already received from neighbors, local businesses, and local leadership from East Atlanta Community Association, East Atlanta Business Association, East Atlanta Parents Network, East Atlanta Strut, and so many others who have encouraged us as we work toward opening the doors at 481-A Flat Shoals Avenue SE.

There is still plenty of work ahead as we finish fitting out the space and navigate the remaining steps toward opening, but we are excited about what is taking shape.

Thanks again to the Atlanta Business Chronicle for telling the story and to our East Atlanta community for continuing to believe in what East Atlanta Kids Club can build here.

The full article is available at the link below, and we hope you’ll read and share with others who believe in creative platforms for youth opportunity and placemaking. We still need and welcome support in every form it might take. Thanks now as ever for standing alongside as we continue to build up our community!

What an incredible Juneteenth celebration! ❤️🖤💚
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our amazing EAKC families for showing up in so many ways. Whether you attended, donated food, shared your talents, volunteered your time, or supported our Teen Club by purchasing their Juneteenth merchandise, your contributions helped make this event a tremendous success.

A special congratulations goes out to our Teen Club members, who did an outstanding job creating and nearly selling out their merchandise. It was gratifying watching our youth showcase their creativity, with confidence, and true entrepreneurial spirit.

We would also like to thank Ms. Ashley of ngozi
for providing such a fun and engaging puppet show for our littles. Their smiles, laughter, and excitement said it all!

Juneteenth is a time to celebrate freedom, culture, community, and the strength of those who came before us. We are grateful to have shared this meaningful day with our families and supporters.

Thank you for helping us create another memorable Juneteenth celebration. It truly could not have been done without you.

We are already looking forward to celebrating with you again next year! ❤️🖤💚

Thanks to all who attended our 2nd Annual Pour it Forward at , we were able to raise $13,393 toward our upcoming summer camp! We have 108 kids and teens joining us in just a few short weeks, and your support helps ensure that they have the summer they deserve ❤️ between this event and our ongoing campaign to support a youth-led skateshop and third space for community teens, we have raised just over $20,000 from our community over the last two weeks. We are grateful to all who stand alongside us, building promising futures for our kids and teens.

For the final month of afterschool, EAKC had a hard but clear choice: disrupt services for families due to facility renovations at Brownwood, or absorb the cost and strain of standing up a temporary site so kids could finish the school year with consistency.

We chose continuity.

It’s imperfect. It’s expensive. It is stretching our already-lean team in a manner that certainly isn’t sustainable in the long term. But for families, a month of afterschool means transportation, meals, homework help, caring adults, and a safe place while parents work.

This is the quiet work of community-based youth development. It’s not flashy, and not always neatly fundable and packaged, but it’s deeply necessary.

If you believe kids and families deserve stability even when logistics get hard, please consider helping us cover the real cost of keeping that promise. As always, we welcome support in any amount, and ways to support our work are linked in our bio and listed prominently on our site.

We’re building more than a skateshop.

We’re building a youth-powered third space connected to Teen Club, creative production, makerspace learning, and belonging.

Early support has already come from East Atlanta civic leaders, parent network leaders, school-connected families, public health and healthcare professionals, workforce development leaders, nonprofit peers, volunteers, and longtime EAV neighbors.

Now we’re working toward our next milestone: 50 community supporters.

If this vision makes sense to you as a parent, neighbor, skater, artist, small business owner, or someone who believes teens need places to build and belong, we’d love to have you counted among the first 50.

We are not asking everyone for a huge gift (though, those are absolutely welcome). We are trying to show that this vision has real community backing. A $25, $50, or $100 gift helps us build the case that East Atlanta is behind this.

The link to support is in our bio ❤️

For years, East Atlanta Kids Club has worked to create spaces where young people in southeast Atlanta are safe, known, supported, and given real opportunities to grow.

That vision has always been bigger than simply offering a program. It has been about building places of belonging - places where kids and teens can learn, create, build relationships, and imagine a future for themselves in the community they call home.

Today, we’re excited to share a new step in that work.

We’ve launched a crowdfunding campaign to support a community-centered skateshop and creative teen space connected to our Teen Club programming.

This is not a departure from our mission. It is an extension of it.

As East Atlanta Kids Club has grown, so has our understanding of what young people need - especially older youth. They need more than supervision and structure. They need places that feel real to them. Places where culture, creativity, identity, skill-building, and community come together. Places where they can belong.

We believe this project can help create that kind of space - one rooted in skate culture, making, design, and connection, while also opening the door to mentorship, creative expression, and future opportunity.

Our afterschool and summer programs remain at the heart of our work, and this vision builds on that foundation. We are proud to keep growing in ways that reflect both our mission and the young people we serve.

If you’d like to support the campaign, share it, or help connect us to funders, industry partners, volunteers, or other champions, we’d be grateful.

Thank you for believing in East Atlanta’s young people and in the importance of creating spaces where they can thrive - both for the last 28 years and for the many yet to come!

We hope you'll join us for our 2nd Annual Pour it Forward event at Halfway Crooks on April 30th from 7:00pm-9:30pm. You can learn more about the event and purchase tickets at the link below, but the format is pretty simple.

We will enjoy good company, good drinks, and good eats in one of Atlanta's most charming biergartens, with a pay-what-you-want format that will see all proceeds going directly to EAKC in support of our upcoming summer camp (which has 108 youth enrolled!).

Won't you join us and pour it forward?

An adults only evening of food, drinks, and fun with our neighbors centered on education and giving for East Atlanta Kids Club.
