August was a powerhouse month for community care at the Healing Bridge Clinic! Thanks to the incredible dedication of 17 unique volunteer providers, our team achieved 1,369 total patient touches across appointments, care coordination calls, and follow-ups.

Behind every single one of those interactions is an uninsured neighbor getting the comprehensive care they deserve. In August alone, our team drew nearly 300 labs, filled more than 200 essential prescriptions, and conducted 72 mental health screenings to support our patients' total well-being.

True healthcare access also means removing the physical barriers that keep people from getting the help they need. To make sure transportation was never an obstacle to a healthier life, we provided 30 free Uber rides directly to and from appointments this month.

To our amazing volunteers, supporters, and partners who make this vital work possible every single day: thank you for standing with us and bringing accessible, compassionate healing to our community.

On another day of 90-degree temperatures in our area, we are beating the heat and spreading the care! Our clinic owes a huge thank you to Americares for funding that is keeping our patients safe, healthy, and cool through the sweltering Georgia heat.

Thanks to their generous support, we’ve been able to distribute more than 500 heat safety items like infrared thermometers, sunscreen, cooling rags, reusable water bottles, hands-free neck fans, and portable misting fans. On top of that, Americares funding enabled us to provide 60 gift cards for our patients to use at Walgreens, Publix, and Kroger to pick up prescriptions while enjoying a much-needed break in a cool, air-conditioned space. Plus, Americares’ generosity helped us purchase a medical refrigerator that will be used in our lab.

Thank you, Americares, for standing with the Healing Bridge Clinic and protecting our neighbors when the temperatures soar!

Keeping our community healthy takes a village, and our friends at Piedmont Fayette Hospital just gave us a major boost for flu season! 💉

A massive thank you to PFH for generously donating 150 flu shots to help protect Healing Bridge Clinic patients. On Tuesday, the PFH Director of Community Relations Paige Muh stopped by the clinic to drop off these essential supplies—pictured here alongside our Clinic Coordinator, Kat Muncher, and Executive Director, Mike Conaway.

Because of PFH's incredible generosity, the goodness didn't stop at our front door. With such an abundant donation, we were able to pay it forward and share vaccines with Susan Whatley, Executive Director of Urban Clinic, to help protect even more neighbors across our community!

Our team is always staying prepared! We hosted a Basic Life Support (BLS) class at the Healing Bridge Clinic this week, and several of our volunteers are now recertified for another two years. A special thank you to Jeff Felmet and 1st Response Safety for helping us maintain the highest standard of care for our patients. 👏

A huge thank you to Fayette County News for covering a very special moment for the Healing Bridge Clinic! We were incredibly honored that the Fayette Board of Commissioners issued a proclamation declaring our clinic the only safety net clinic in the county and recognizing our contributions to the uninsured in our community. Our mission at the Healing Bridge Clinic wouldn't be possible without the continued support of our amazing volunteers, partners, and local leaders.

Fayette County Board of Commissioners recently recognized local nonprofit Healing Bridge Clinic for its contributions to providing non-emergency medical care and resources to uninsured county residents at no charge.
