A year after being matched, Big Mark and Little Dakarai are proof that one consistent relationship can make a lasting difference.

“He’s smart, athletic, driven, conscientious, and just an all-around great kid,” Mark said.

Dakarai and Mark’s son are the same age and have become so close that people often can’t tell they aren’t brothers.

Reflecting on their match, Mark said, “I told his mom that no matter where they go or what happens, we’re all family.” She agreed.

That’s what mentorship is all about: showing up, building trust, and creating relationships that last far beyond the match!

Our Back to School Bash was made possible through the support of dedicated volunteers and generous corporate sponsors committed to investing in local youth and families.
