Great heads up from our association president today, sent via email: 🐍

“We are at the peak of baby copperhead season. Please stay safe out there! One of our neighbors reports that he was bitten.” ⚠️‼️

“Baby snakes frequently hide under items such as flower pots, woodpiles, and even children's toys. Be very careful when picking things up in your yard or in the woods. Females give birth to up to 10 babies, so if you see one, there are likely others. “

“As we get into cooler weather, we can also expect adults to be more active in the daytime. They normally feed on rodents, so be careful about pet food or spilled bird seed that may attract prey.”

Yes. We wish this meeting took place long before Brookhaven made designs and bought property for a possible four lane motor bridge into our neighborhood. But the city is holding a meeting a tonight to hear from residents on this. 🗣️

IMPORTANT MEETING 🚨- This week Wednesday at the new Brookhaven City Hall, on the proposed four-lane motor bridge, across interstate 85, that would exit into our neighborhood at Chantilly Drive.

This is a meeting meant mainly for OUR neighborhood. And yes, many of us wished it had happened before the city purchased property and paid engineers to produce designs - but here we are.

Wed at 6pm, sorry for the short notice. This is your chance to speak up.

Heads up neighbors - what looks like a family of three coyotes has been seen at various homes on Beech Haven - walking near Steve and Joe’s garden and up and down Beechhaven, Wildcreek and Citadel. ⚠️

-Careful leaving small pets outside at night-. And a reminder that if you leave out food for the feral cats, you’re also leaving out food that attracts coyotes and other wildlife. 🐀

This week we shine a neighborhood spotlight on Make It Fit Alterations, the wonderful tailor and sewing service near the corner of Briarcliff and Lavista roads. David and his team do excellent work AND support our neighborhood, so we would like to support them in kind! The "Friends" program helps cover the cost of our neighborhood security patrol and other expenditures, and allows neighbors, who are members, a discount at participating local businesses.
