Important neighborhood meeting this week Thursday on the proposed motor highway bridge into our neighborhood. 🚘🏍️

For neighbors only.

The board will share with you what we’ve learned, who we’ve already talked with, and their response. We need your feedback/discussion and will report this to our elected leaders and other stakeholders.

In the note below you can see where Brookhaven wants to put the bridge and what streets could likely see the most impacts from increased traffic and the speeders we see so often.

TIME TO WEIGH IN: Check your emails for this survey from our President Bill, on a possible VEHICLE bridge from Buford Highway to Chantilly. This would be in addition to the Brookhaven pedestrian bridge already in the works. Now is the time for comment, input, cheers or concerns.🚨

Neighborhood Membership Renewal Kickoff!! 🗓️April 1 to the end of May!!

Why renew or join?

Number one. Safety. 🚔 Our neighborhood hires off duty Brookhaven police who watch over our neighborhood in marked vehicles. They will watch your home when you’re away. But only if you’re a member!

Number two. Community. 👯We have civic and social events all year long, where you get to meet your neighbors and public officers. Many of our events are at the Park!

Number three. Our Friends program. 🍝 We have special relationships with local businesses nearby. Discounts and friendly service from business owners who are part of our neighborhood!

Website Construction

Join Our Team: LaVista Park Civic Association is looking for a talented individual to help us finish our new website on the Wix platform.

Building on the existing design and framework, you'll play a key role in creating an engaging and functional site that showcases our community's spirit.

A member-volunteer did much of the work but was unable to finish.

We need the finished site to allow members to join online and pay by credit card, Apple/Google Pay, Venmo and Zelle. We’re committed to the Wix platform. We can pay an hourly rate, with some estimate needed of total hours required.

🚨Prowler arrested🚨

On this Valentine’s Day several homeowners woke up to a man, possibly in mental distress, casing their homes, and walking into backyards. On Brook Valley and Sheridan Roads. The suspect opened a door, -and walked into the home of one resident-, who upon encountering the man, asked him to leave. He left without incident. No one was hurt. Brookhaven Police Officer Angela Nichols happened to be working for our neighborhood security patrol at the time, and responded immediately.

The suspect, caught on camera, was later arrested in the neighborhood.

Again- the LVPCA partrol responded. And our relationship with Brookhaven PD maintains safety. Your dues pay for the patrol.
