We mourn the passing of Rev. Jesse Jackson, a son of North Carolina A&T State University and a giant in the struggle for justice.

As a student at North Carolina A&T, he led on the field as quarterback and on campus as Student Body President, early signs of the bold leadership that would define more than six decades of service. He became a steadfast voice for civil rights, economic empowerment, and political progress, carrying the cause of freedom from local communities to the national and global stage.

Inducted into the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame Foundation in 2005 as a Lifetime Achievement honoree, his life stands as a testament to courage, conviction, and enduring faith.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family, loved ones, and all who were shaped by his presence. His passing is a profound loss for our community and for a nation that is better because he stood in the gap.

May he rest in power.

The 2025 Taste of Heritage Gala was an unforgettable celebration of legacy, flavor, and purpose! From gourmet dishes to moving performances, our HBCU family came together to uplift students and support our mission. 💫

Special thanks to our sponsors — Delta Air Lines, U.S. Foods, Georgia-Pacific, Coca-Cola, Atlanta Transportation System, Hyatt Regency Atlanta, HBCU Change, and Armada Sunset — for making it all possible. 🙏🏾

Highlights included Miss NBCA Hall of Fame Stoney McKnight’s heartfelt debut speech and scholarship winner Mehki Ryan’s inspiring words reminding us why we give. 🎓💛
