Congratulations are in order for Alumni Ayesha Watson, who has been inducted into the Psi Chi National Society in Psychology at Morris Brown College as a current professor, bringing recognition and credibility to the Department following its accreditation needs in decades under the Direction of Dr.Marvin Brown-Psychology Department Chair.

This year’s commencement ceremony for Morris Brown College holds a special place in the HBCU’s history.

This cohort of graduates, deemed the “Restoration Class,” is the first to graduate from Morris Brown since its reaccreditation.

Morris Brown’s journey remains one of determination and resilience, inspiring other HBCUs at risk of losing accreditation. The school fought for decades to restore its status after losing it in 2002, regaining it 20 years later.

Morris Brown College is preparing for a milestone commencement of its "restoration class," the first graduates since its reaccreditation.

You never really know when someone might be screen-recording a conversation.

Footage that appears to be a leaked video involving Dr. Kevin James has been circulating online. In the clip, James, the president of Atlanta-based Morris Brown College, is allegedly seen making inappropriate s3xual remarks to a woman he’s considering hiring. “Even though I may want to, I’ve got to look at the big picture,” James says at the start of the conversation. He goes on to suggest bringing the woman to Atlanta, mentoring her, and possibly hiring her, even mentioning the idea of making her his executive assistant. The video ends right after he says, “You know, if I give you the d**k, then you might not be able to handle it.” The date on the footage suggests it was initially taken around the time James first started working at Morris Brown.

On Jan. 12, James announced on Facebook that the College Board of Trustees had terminated him after seven years, stating he was removed without a specific cause or a “substantive explanation.” The college later released a statement thanking James for his service and naming trustee Nzinga Shaw as interim president. However, before the month ended, Morris Brown announced that James had been reinstated as president.
