I came across an old photo of the old Sprayberry Dairy farm homestead as we found it when we bought the property in 2017. All the brush behind it is an equal amount that we had to clear to get this photo. And how it looks today. We built the pavilion but haven't done a lot planting and such in this area. We did have a lady that adopted this area as a volunteer, unfortunately, she was diagnosed with lupus and had to give it up. If interested in adopting and putting your creative juices to work, I would love to talk to you about it. Grant funds available for plantings.

Morning photo catch looking towards our community veggie garden. We still have raised beds available for rent. $40 for the year. Includes just about any tool you need, soil amendments, a selection of seeds, plus. Really cool space!
We also have an orchard, flower farm, and pollinator garden. If interested, you can also volunteer for our non-profit with our mission to inspire those in our community to get closer to nature.
Photo also of our pineapple guava plant. I just read this morning that you can eat the pedals of the flowers. Colin Henderson and I found them very tasty!

Friday, sixty 1st graders visited from The Museum School of Avondale Estates for a field trip! They divided up into three groups and toured the Floribunda Flower Farm, and our herb, pollinator, community vegetable garden, and orchard of fruit trees - all here at RAF. They had a wonderful learning experience and were inspired! They really enjoyed being able to pull a leaf off of various herbs and smelling the difference in them. And, a gardenia too! Chocolate mint was a favorite! At the end while waiting for the bus they played a game called "bubble gum in a dish". Very cute! [video]

BTW, we still have some raised beds available for rent for 2026. $40 for the year. That includes the use of just about any garden tool you need. A nice selection of free seed. In addition to the 4x16 raised bed, you get about 12 feet of trellis fence space for green beans, cucumbers - any veggies that vine climb. And a really cool nature space of 26 acres, including our commercial flower farm to explore!

The River Watershed Alliance (SRWA) does river awareness paddles several times a year. Transport and storage of the kayaks have always been an issue. Shout out to Joey Eifrid and Colin Henderson of the Rockdale Art Farm team for donating time and materials to weld taller sides on the SRWA trailers to accommodate and secure more kayaks in transport and for storage. Thank you, Joey and Colin!

Meet 'The Gardener' - our newest art installation here at RAF. The Gardener (we call him TG) was sculpted by Kim Eifrid out of one piece of Indiana Limestone. Kim dedicated about 250 hours to this project. We are proud to have his work here at RAF!
