A Louisville woman, Carolyn Ross-Brents, is dead after what police say started as a simple argument inside her home.

According to investigators, the situation escalated after she asked her husband, Patrick Brents, to clean up.

An argument followed.

Then… a gun was involved.

🧠 WHAT HE’S SAYING VS WHAT PEOPLE BELIEVE

Brents claims he grabbed a gun from a drawer and that it “accidentally went off” while he was preparing to leave.

But a witness says they warned him not to shoot her… and he allegedly responded:

👉 “What are you going to do about it?”

Moments later, the gun fired.

That explanation isn’t sitting right with many.

Update: 11-year-old Shaniah Isom has been safely located about 1,100 miles away in Pueblo, Colorado on March 20, 2026, the Olive Branch Police Department confirmed.

The Olive Branch Police Department confirmed that Shaniah was reported missing on March 7, 2026 in Olive Branch, Mississippi. She was located about 1,100 miles away in Pueblo, Colorado on March 20, 2026. According to a statement from police, she was found with her mother.
