We are incredibly excited to announce that we will be partnering with The Creative Folks for a panel discussion this month as part of their project Empower Asian America (EAA). EAA is a project with a goal to empower, uplift, and encourage Asian and Asian-American creatives to pursue their creative endeavors.

Roland Keng (Co-Executive Director, KollabATL), Ellie Tsuchiya (MEND Project Lead, KollabATL) and Ting (MEND Artist) will be featured on Combining Art, Heritage, Culture, and Activism panel discussion on May 31st from 6:30- 8:00 p.m.

During the discussion we will premier Kollab presents MEND, a short film documenting the MEND project, and hear from Ting about their journey as an artist with time for Q&A. We'll also be announcing opportunities to buy a limited number of prints of the final art piece inspired by YOUR visual submissions. You don't want to miss it!

MEND is a community project that crowdsources visuals from the community to inspire a final art piece. You do NOT have to be an artist to participate!

We've missed you guys so much! Hope everyone has been staying safe, healthy, well and happy. 🙂

During our hiatus, we have been planning on how to transition our Open Mics online for the time being.

We have been graciously supported by Cafe Rothem these past years to hold a warm and welcoming space for all of our local artists to share our passions and connect with one another. 🌱

We promise to do our best to continue on our monthly traditions online and use the best resources that we can.

Know that we are here for you and are blessed to be able to have the opportunity to connect with you guys via online. 🌐

Future Open Mics will be hosted through a Zoom Call which you can access via phone or browser. You are more than welcome to join through a video call or dial in via voice! 🥰

To remain silent is to claim equal responsibility to the injustices that are happening to black people all across this country. To remain silent is to admit by omission our own guilt in observing without empathy. Now is not the time for silence, for inaction, for complicity. Now is the time for us as Asian Americans to speak up in solidarity for our black brothers and sisters, to examine and destroy our own prejudices and hatred.

Use your voice, use your resources and educate yourself on how we can all help become a part of the solution rather than the problem. Black Lives Matter, forever and always. Please share the below sources and the graphic as much as you can, everywhere you can- we hope that it can become a beacon of support for anyone who needs to hear it.
