We have a pop-up at Cool People Sew in Duluth Scraplanta is a 501(c)3 non-profit that inspires the greater Atlanta community to make art instead of waste. We operate two thrift stores and one pop-up with Cool People Sew! We host sliding-scale community art workshops in our Tucker and Adair Park Stores. Our stores are ope

n to the general public with special discount days for students, seniors, teachers, and veterans. To date, we've diverted over 165,000 pounds of art, classroom, and party supplies from the landfill. Store Directions:
The Tucker Store is located at 2130 Henderson Mill Rd in the Briarcliff Village Shopping Plaza. The storefront is not visible from the street, and you must walk in between TJ Maxx and Burlington Coat Factory. The Adair Park Scraplet is located at 900 Murphy Avenue SW inside of CreateATL. Limited lot parking is available, and visitors can park along Allene Avenue. The Scraplet is open Friday - Sunday from 11am - 5pm. Visitors may bring one bag or box of material donations anytime that we're open for business. Larger donations will need an appointment that can be scheduled through our website.

ScrapTucker is BACK open today and hopefully forever!

We want to thank everyone for their patience while we worked through our ceiling and HVAC issues! Y'all are amazing!

If you are bringing craft supplies to donate, please only bring us up to one grocery bag full; we have large donation appointments on our website.

ScrapTucker is open from 10am - 6pm, Thursday through Monday, and we got a great selection of beads, books, scrapbook paper, sewing notions, playing cards, and MORE!

Bring a friend or a frenemy; we have something for everybody!

Our hearts are full from the how our community showed up and showed out for our first every community quilt! We gathered enough blocks to create two quilts for the Refugee Women's Network. We loved the joyful moments during our quilt block parties and the reception. We hope to keep crafting community through more charity events in later this year! Thank you to everyone who participated and please be on the lookout in our newsletter and social media for future events.

We're still closed one more day while we wait for the HVAC people to come by and drain the big scary leaky bag in the ceiling.

We want to make sure our store is safe and shoppable for all!

Update: We will also be closed on Thursday, May 28th while we wait for the HVAC team to repair the unit. We hope to be back open this weekend

Of all the weekends, the ceiling tile decided to get overwhelmed and collapse in our store. (But honestly, we getchu, Mx. Ceiling Tile!)

Out of abundance of caution for our staff and customers, we will have to close on Monday, May 25th, so we can get someone to look at the ceiling and make repairs. We hope to resume normal retail operations by Thursday, May 28th, but if something changes, we will let you know.

In the meantime, we want everyone to have a safe Memorial Day! Remember those that we've lost and drive safe! We hope you get enjoy some good food with your family and time to craft!

What's the biggest recession indicator? This class, of course! And we are BACK for more, this time at the Scraplet!!

Bring your broken, your in-need-of-repair, your items with potential, and learn how to repair VISIBLY with Casey (aka ) This class is not for invisible repairs. If you want to point to your item and say, with pride, "WOW I made that??" Well, this is for you.

Learn the Japanese art of sashiko (hand-sewn patchwork), needle felting (great for knitwear with holes), and other forms of visible mending to patch and reimagine your items.

After all, who can afford new clothes? It is a recession, after all.

You learned it. Now come practice it!!

Join us next week for a Open Studio Craft Night on Tuesday, May 27 from 6 to 8pm inside the Piedmont Park Conservancy building!

This is free studio time for anyone in the Scraplanta community , and especially for Green Creatives Academy attendees who want to come back and keep working on the skills and projects from their class sessions. No new lesson. No pressure. Just dedicated time and space to practice what you've been building.

Bring whatever you're working on (we will have some essentials, too!) Bring the technique that's still clicking into place. Bring the project that needs one more focused session. The space is yours and the whole community will be around you, as it should be. Free and open to all. Drop in anytime!!

Friends, we are absolutely PACKED this month and we couldn’t be more excited to make with you!

We’re kicking things off with Creative Reuse Cosplay at Clayton County Library — yes, you get to turn scraps into your dream cosplay costume. Tell us that’s not the perfect way to start Pride Month!
Then? We’re basically throwing a month-long creative party. Junk journaling for the paper lovers. Scrappy sewing circles for the textile folx. No-sew bookbinding because not everything needs a needle and thread. Crochet flowers, paper making — honestly, pick your craft adventure!

And can we talk about Green Creatives Academy? June is stacked. Fashion figure drawing, ForaJunking, gathered garments, plushie bag making, quilting tote bags. This is your moment to strut your stuff. Build your skillset in the fiber world, level up your practice, and work toward something real — a Trashion Show where our community gets to walk the runway and celebrate everything they made. Pride Month energy all the way through.

Reminder:: You can sign up for any GCA workshop anytime. But if you want to walk that runway at our summer Trashion Show graduation, you’ll need to be with us for each module. The whole journey. (It’s worth every stitch!!)

✂️MAY SCRAPPY SEWING CIRCLE 🧵

Patches. Appliqué. Making something from what you already have! That is the Scraplanta way.

This Wednesday we're getting into it!! Scrappy Sewing Circle is going intermediate — we're learning how to make patches and appliqué from scratch, and how to look at a worn out piece of fabric and see possibility instead of a problem. Bring your machine if you've got one. We've got fabric, rotary cutters, scissors, needles, and thread.

This session counts toward the Green Creatives Academy. GCA is our summer fiber arts incubator running May through July, helping experienced sewists and fiber artists learn how to make their practices more sustainable.
