Georgia S.P.E.A.K.S., Inc is looking for volunteers next month for two events. The dates are May 6th and 11th from 8:30AM - 2:30PM.

Volunteers will receive a meal and certificate of appreciation for your time. If you are able to assist, we will provide you with details in your Facebook inbox.

Georgia Speaks, Inc. is in need of volunteers for our Physical Health Mentorship Program for youth! This program will roll- out in early 2016. If you're interested in impacting the life of a paired youth and encouraging them to make better eating choices and put the video games, Ipads, etc. down and MOVE please reach out to us by email at [email protected], so we can send more information regarding our Orientation meeting in January!

NOVEMBER IS DIABETES AWARENESS MONTH! Please join the Ruby A. Neeson Diabetes Awareness Foundation, Inc. for their second annual "Taste of Health Wellness Expo". Don't forget to stop by the Georgia Speaks, Inc. booth to grab some information about our exciting new Physical Health Mentorship Program for youth. Georgia Speaks, Inc. CEO, Sakina Coakley, will also be facilitating a very informative session regarding the "Importance of Volunteerism". Did I mention the event is FREE and there will be sample tastings, prize drawings, health screenings, information sessions and wellness activities for all ages. You don't want to miss this. We'll see you there.

Encouraging our Youth, Empowering our Futures in memoriam of Diane Ruby Rhodes. She has always been our biggest supporter. If you had the opportunity to volunteer at an event with us you couldn't miss her bright beautiful light, she was always there always smiling and ready to help! Words cannot describe the inspiration an impact she made in all of our lives. She will be missed immensely but never forgotten. Your memory lives on we will continue to make you proud! We ask for prayers for strength, comfort, and peace of mind for the Rhodes, Kaleak, and Holman Coakley family in this time of deep need. Thank you for your support!!!

Georgia Speaks will be gearing up to begin collecting shoes that you no longer wear or may have out grown for our second annual shoe drive. There are children, men, and women in other parts of the world that could really put them to great use! The donated shoes will be cleaned, repaired or have the outsoles melted down if necessary, to make a new pair of shoes to help families in need in countries like Africa, Haiti, Guatemala, and Togo.

Georgia Speaks, Inc., is all geared up to kick-off our "Annual Shoe Drive"! Collections will begin October 1st 2014 and end on October 31st, 2014! Please let us know if your school, job and/or church would like to help us out and we will bring a collection box to place at their site! Last year was a success...this year will be even BETTER!!! Donations will go to support underdeveloped parts of Africa, Guatemala and Haiti. Contact us by email at [email protected] or telephone at 646-404-1665 to make arrangements!
