APRIL 16 | EMANCIPATION DAY
“Undemolished No More.”
On April 16, 1862, the District of Columbia—seat of American power—abolished slavery.
Over 3,100 men, women, and children walked into freedom under the first federal law to end bo***ge in the United States.
This was not Juneteenth.
This was not a state-by-state reversal.
This was the capital of the country breaking its own chains—by federal authority.
It was the first public acknowledgment that this nation could no longer pray in freedom while profiting in bo***ge.
Washington, D.C.—the head of state—was still home to human trafficking, forced labor, and auction blocks until this very date.
April 16, 1862 is when slavery was undemolished at the top.
And we have a duty to remember that.
Because if we can forget when freedom started at the capital,
We’ll never finish building the capital where freedom governs.
Today, I build in honor of this date.
I lead a firm powered by legacy, emancipation, and evolution.
And I will not let this date be forgotten.
APRIL 16 is Emancipation Day in D.C.—but in our movement, it’s a call to action.
To own the future, we must confront the undealt past.
Let’s build cities, systems, and smart infrastructure with no chains, no ceilings, no compromise.
“The mind is the new land. The vision is the new freedom. The build is the new revolution.”
